Acrophobia and motion sickness have always kept me far far away from adventure. Errr… Adventure? What? How do you even spell that??
While parasailing set off the momentum, I attended Wild Tribe Ranch’s launch event at ECR last Friday.
Wild Tribe Ranch is a one-of-a-kind adventure park located near Crocodile Bank, on the way to Mahabalipuram.
While the adventure park opened to the public on Saturday, a few of us from the Chennai Bloggers Club and journalists got a sneak peek of the place. While some of the sports are fully functional, the rest are still work-in-progress.
Devil’s Ramp (true to it’s name!) was a two floor ramp with various challenging hurdles. I did not attempt this one but from what I heard, it was very difficult to complete. This was the most challenging activity of all.
While Devil’s Ramp looked challenging, Bungee Run looked relatively simple so I decided to give it a try. I mean, c’mon! A rope pulling you while you are running to complete a task on a bouncy platform is easy-peasy right? WRONG! The rope pulls you so fast and with so much force that when I tried resisting, it was an epic fail. This was another tough challenge. I must admit, it was fun though.
If you are in Chennai and love adventure sports, do visit this place (going as part of a large group is recommended!). It’s obviously not as grand as the adventure sports parks abroad but it certainly is something new in this city, especially for beginners like me who wouldn’t have given it a shot otherwise.
