When was the last time you got pampered?
Last Saturday was a day – one of the first in my life when I got pampered to a full fledged facial. I am in my late twenties but my face has never been subject to anything at a parlor other than the routine threading and clean ups.
But when Limelite Salon and Spa invited me to try their newly launched facial, I jumped at the opportunity!
Limelite Salon & Spa has launched two new facials, Radiant Bloom and Silken Glow from the house of the renowned Anna Lotan, a pioneer in the professional skincare segment. Loaded with the goodness of Vitamin C and vital plant extracts, the Radiant Bloom facial is formulated for skin lightening and the prevention of pigmentation. The Silken Glow facial contains enriching Sea Buckthorn Oil which controls wrinkles and fine lines.
Located at Chamiers Road in Chennai, Limelite Salon has carved a niche for itself in the salon and spa industry.
Chennai’s climate makes the skin dry and especially before a facial or a spa it’s important to avoid dehydration and the first thing that the staff at Limelite do is serve mineral water. That was pretty impressive since after travelling in the hot sun, the first thing anybody would want is water (knowing Chennai’s heat)- And that was taken care of.
The masseuse who attended to me, Anura took me through the entire process of the Radiant Bloom and Silken Glow facial. Using a magnifying lamp, she analyzed my facial skin and pointed out the various problem areas. The facial that was done was decided based on these factors.
Well, let’s just say I have problematic skin and I wish there was a magic wand to get rid of each one of these instantly.
The good thing about these facials is that they help boost the skin and get rid of pigmentation issues over time with various natural ingredients rather than promising to instantly cover up problems.
I was recommended the Radiant Bloom facial (priced at 2645 INR + tax) which was meant to help solve pigmentation issues since it injects Vitamin C to the skin which helps lighten tan, dark circles, moisturize the skin and give a glow.

This particular Radiant Bloom facial can be done once in 21 days and is safe for people who are above the age of 18, since it is meant to get rid of pigmentation, tan and give the skin a radiant glow.
Anura began by cleaning my skin with a facial foam. She massaged this foam into my skin to get rid of impurities and dirt. After wiping off the foam, she then applied a soothing aloe vera gel and gave a gentle massage to my face. This was my favourite part in the entire facial process. The aloe vera gel was so soothing and had a tingling sensation to it. This gel helps tighten the skin and minimize pores. The aloe vera gel mask was the best IMO!!
After that, my face was scrubbed with the Anna Lotan scrub, which is available in the Limelite Salons for sale. The scrub was not very harsh and it suited my sensitive skin well. Post that came the dreaded part. This is something I dread during clean ups as well.
Removal of whiteheads and blackheads is a process that reminds me of my childhood days. Remember how as kids we would want to use the loo just when we step out of the house or nag our parents for food when they are busy and not eat when they force us to eat otherwise? Well, this process is somewhat similar to that. At any given time while removing blackheads and whiteheads, my nose starts itching or better still the inevitable sneeze pops up. Sigh. Anura was patient enough to ask me if I was comfortable at each and every step and she warned me that removal of blackheads would be slightly painful but it wasn’t as bad as expected.
Finally, a face pack was applied. Interestingly, it wasn’t those brush on face packs. She used a face sheet soaked in Anna Lotan facial liquid/serum and covered my face with it. It felt so good and with the lights dimmed, I took a power nap. (Yes, that is a fancy name for sleeping). Finally the facial was finished with sunscreen application. The sunscreen is available for sale at Limelite salons.
The end results were fabulous. My skin was glowing and I could see a visible reduction in my blackheads, whiteheads.
I was asked not to use makeup and to avoid exposing my facial skin to sunlight for two days without sunscreen for two days for maximum benefits. I got the facial done last Saturday and I must admit that my face is glowing and I have been receiving compliments for the same! Hurrahh!!
Special mention to Anura, who patiently explained the entire process and did a wonderful job of making my face glow like never before. Her massage techniques were fabulous and she put me at ease through the entire process.
Final Word: Overall, this facial is worth the splurge and I would definitely go back! Thumbs up from my end!
