‘Tis the season to be jolly.. fa la la la la la la
Here’s why I love the holiday season. There are a bazillion holiday sets that makeup companies release for the holiday season. Some of them are value sets where you get either four to five sample size products or two to three full-size products at unbelievable prices. Oh, and did I mention this was in the US? #sorry!
I keep an eye out for these value sets because I love trying different colours, different formulae before buying the full-sized products. If anyone comes to India from the States, then it’s a hoorah! moment for me. This time, it was my husband’s cousin who was kind enough to pick up what I wanted.
Now that I have bored you enough, let me show you the goodies.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick Set ($25): I was most excited for this one. All the three colours are gorgeous but my favourite has to be Bittersweet – the chocolate colour liquid lipstick.
Hudson is a deep n*de-peach, Dazed is a beautiful redwood colour and bittersweet is the colour of chocolate. Yes, chocolate. *craving for one right now!*
Urban Decay Little Liquid Vices ($28): True to its name, this set is as tiny as it can get. I personally feel the Anastasia set is more value for money than this one. Then again, let me put this set to test for a few days and see if I’m wrong.
Sugar Cosmetics Plush Hour Matte Lipstick (499 INR): Sugar Cosmetics, as a brand has impressed me with its launches and consistency in terms of quality. I bought the recently launched Plush Hour Matte Lipsticks in Cherry Jane and Minnie Mauve. Cherry Jane is described as a cool toned red and Minnie Mauve is a rose mauve. When I swatched it on my hand, it didn’t seem like a rose mauve to me. Will update you on how it looked on my lips in a review post.
More Sugar please. Yes, I also bought the Sugar Cosmetics Matte As Hell Crayon Lipstick (799 INR) in Baby Houseman which is described a deep pink on the website.
Okay, let’s get the lipsticks out of the way and see something else shall we? I love the original Real Techniques miracle sponge and this set called out to me. So I had to get it! The price of these six sponge set is $20. There are two miracle complexion sponges, three miracle mini eraser sponges and one miracle sculpting sponge.
Last but not the least, I had to get the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer ($30). I had the sample version of the concealer and it lasted for a very long time. It was one of my go-to concealers as well. So I decided to invest in a full-size one. This is why value sets and samples are extremely important. They help you decide whether you want to buy a full-size product or not.
