This year flew by at the speed of a rocket and I had such a wonderful time enjoying every day of it.
Maybelline made hay when the sun shined, when the other brands were wondering what to do. Maybelline flooded our market with absolute brilliance. I believe it’s the only brand which can truly be called a budget brand today.
My first post on Divassence was swatches of the famous Bold Matte range. Presenting The Maybelline Bold Matte Lipstick in MAT 5!
All the shades in this range were bold, intense and dare-to-wear. And for someone who craves adventure, what better way to hook, I fell for this lipstick hook, line and sinker. 🙂

You know what struck me first about this color? It is very deceptive. The lipstick changes its color based on lighting. It looks the color of blood-orange sometimes, looks bold red (like MAC Scarlet Ibis !! ) then looks pink red !!! (Huh .. How can one color be all this is a mystery!!). You can see for yourself here.
However on swatches this one looks deep pink infused red. Very bold very creamy and definitely very stylish to wear. It is the most pigmented of all shades in this range and surely grabs the eyeballs when worn. So expect a lot of heads turning and attentive smiles 😉
This lipstick is smooth, creamy and glossy. Glides on the lips like a dream, but, if you have dry lips, then I would suggest that you prepare your lips well by exfoliating and moisturizing first. Else this lipstick makes the flakiness visible and lip lines evident.
Although the name is Bold Matte, the lipstick retains its glossy feel for at least 2 hrs. The glossy texture makes it transferable. But after it turns matte, it is non-transferable. The lipstick stays put on my lips for a good 6 hrs including meals. And after 6 hrs, it leaves behind a pretty tint which needs a make-up remover to take it off completely.

Final Word: Overall this lipstick has become my new friend and stays with me in my bag. 🙂 Is this formula better than the Maybelline 14Hr stay lipstick?: Definitely !!! 🙂 This entire range comes highly recommended by the Divassence! team. Hope you guys enjoyed it.
