My views on the MUA lip boom Let Me Know:
I love this concept of having a lipstick and a corresponding gloss in a single pack and that too at such an affordable rate from MUA. These lip booms are one of the best products from the brand and I totally adore this shade Let Me Know.
Shade: ‘Let Me Know’ is a gothic looking color in the bullet but comes off as a beautiful dark berry color on the lips. The gloss has a slight pink tint and contains multicolored chunky glitters. I love the shade alone on its own but if you need the added drama, go ahead and apply the shimmery gloss on top. The shade would undoubtedly suit all skin tones; you just need the attitude to pull off the bold color.
Texture: The lipstick is very smooth in application and highly pigmented. One single swipe is enough to get the desired color but you can layer it up twice of you want. The gloss on the other hand is a bit thick and sticky but nothing too uncomfortable. It has lots of glitters but they add to the beauty of the color especially for a night-out.
The lipstick shade which is completely matte, is definitely complimented by the slightly tinted but highly glittery gloss. The shade does transfers easily which is irritating. It fades away evenly and doesn’t settle in-between fine lines. A few shimmer particles are left behind and a makeup remover is needed to get rid of them completely.
Staying power: The lipstick along with the gloss stays on for 3 hours on me with a meal in between. Since this shade is on the darker side, a good visible tint is left behind after a meal and the need for a touch up can be overlooked. So this shade does stay on for 4 hours max.
Pros:
- Universally flattering color
- Travel friendly packaging
- Highly pigmented lip color
- Boom-shine gloss.
- Affordable
- Smooth texture
Cons:
- Transfers easily
- Few shimmer particles are left behind after the color starts fading, so a makeup remover to remove the product from the lips is necessary
- Staying power could have been better
Ratings: 3.9/5
Final Word: These lip booms are must haves from MUA. Let Me Know is a lovely combination of lipstick and gloss that will surely be liked by many.
