And the quest to find the best moisturiser for dry skin continues…
Well, maybe, just maybe there may be a temporary pause to that because there’s a new moisturiser that’s going to be launched specially formulated for dry to very dry skin. I’ve put it to test and I have a verdict for you.
About the brand: St. D’Vencé is a brand developed by 22-year-old Yash Hisaria. The brand is a skincare brand that sells exclusively on Amazon. The St. D’Vencé Moisturiser Autumn Edition is a skincare product launching on 10th December 2017 and is available for order on Amazon now. How amazing is that? A skincare product for pre-order on Amazon is commendable.
Price: 449 INR for 300 ml. If you pre-order the Autumn Edition moisturiser, you get it at 399 INR.
Packaging: The brand sent me a 100ml bottle for review. The bottle I have has very basic packaging – a transparent plastic bottle with a flip open cap and a label stuck around the bottle. The 300ml bottle seems to be an opaque white bottle with a pump dispenser.
Ingredients: Argan Oil, Avocado Butter Oil, Avocado Oil, Sunflower Oil, Til Oil, Shea Butter, Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil, Aloe Vera, Vitamin E Acetate, BHT, Carbopol, Di Sodium EDTA, Ceto Stearyl Alcohol, C. M. 1000, Stearic Acid, EGMS, Cetyl Palmitate, Dimethicone Glycerin, TEA, Iso Propyl Myristate, Phenoxy Ethanol, Potassium Sorbate, Allantoin, Fragrance, Purified Water
Free of Parabens, Mineral Oils, Phthalates, PEG and PG
The label states that the moisturiser is hypoallergenic and contains no harmful chemicals.
Fragrance: If a floral fragrance and a musk fragrance had a baby, this would be it. I find this to be a perfect mix of both. Is the scent strong? Not really. The scent does seem a little strong when the moisturiser is applied. Otherwise, unless you stick your nose on your arm or leg, it isn’t bothersome.
Consistency: The moisturiser is neither thick nor runny. It is just the right consistency perfect for application.
Does it work?
Yes, it does. The moisturiser gets absorbed into the skin easily and does not leave behind a greasy feeling. I hate it when there are white patches of moisturiser on my skin which just refuses to budge and sink deep into my skin, and work! And greasy moisturisers irk me. The St. D’Vencé moisturiser Autumn Edition gets a thumbs up from me for that.
I received the sample on November 29th and I’ve been using it religiously since then – day and night. My skin feels hydrated and soft. Autumn is a transition season between summer and winter. The product description on the Amazon page says the moisturiser corrects any summer damage and prepares the skin for winter. I completely agree.
Chennai’s weather is unpredictable unlike my skin (which is predictable – extremely dry!). It pours one day and the next day the sun shines so bright that it burns and destroys every cell in your body. This moisturiser has helped my skin stay hydrated despite the weather fluctuations. The product description on the site claims that it helps in the removal of acne, wrinkles and stretch marks. Not sure about the acne and stretch marks since I don’t have both but I will definitely update this post if the wrinkles on my hands and feet reduce and/or disappear.
Final Verdict: The St. D’Vencé Moisturiser Autumn Edition is free of parabens and mineral oils, which is good. It hydrates extremely dry skin, which is even better. It is non-greasy, which according to me is the best.
Rating: 4/5 (a +1 if the wrinkles on my skin disappear as the product claims!)
